Description
Measuring various disease indicators, surrogate endpoints and tracking changes in Dementia Research by applying novel rating scales and computerized assessment methods is challenging. The goal of these new methods is to make the 'softer' clinical endpoints more amenable to consistency and standardized across different raters. Also, CT/MRI scan technology is fast emerging as a reliable method to ascertain lesions in the brain for patients with vascular dementia and other cerebrovascular diseases. The speakers in this session will focus on the vast scope of statistical challenge that is inherent in this field with multiple scales, raters, surrogate endpoints/disease markers as well as in connecting to the measurement techniques representing modern technology.
