Abstract:

There are two aspects to analyzing research data with which health scientists need to become familiar: how to perform (or get the computer to perform) and interpret the results of a particular method and how to select the appropriate method to analyze a particular set of data. Many of us are much more comfortable teaching the former than the latter. One approach employed by some teachers is to present this process in the form of a decision tree or flowchart. The goal of this roundtable is to discuss this and other methods to include statistical decision-making in courses for health scientists.
