Abstract:

Methods from both statistics and computer science for extracting information from high-dimensional, large datasets will be discussed. These could include things such as neural networks, trees, other adaptive regression and classification methods, and techniques for improving models such as boosting and bagging. Another related issue is the role of statistics in this field and how it relates to other disciplines.
