Abstract:

The paper deals with various challenges faced in teaching Statistics to nonquantitative majors, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The paper discusses some methods that can be tried to impart statistical education to students in business schools. In particular, the detailed design and results, of an experiment conducted by the author at the Mayaguez campus of the University of Puerto Rico, to teach inferential statistics at the undergraduate level by two different methods, with or without a statistical laboratory, are presented.
