Abstract:

Describing the association structure in a two way contigency table by an RC(M) model, we are concerned with the problem of evaluating the fit of a model with smaller dimension of association M. The Kullback-Leibler projection of the saturated model is used to induce the posterior distribution over the parameters of the simpler model. We propose an index that is based on the posterior expectation of the minimum distance, as well as on the complexity of the model.
