Abstract:

In this work, we propose a method to adapt the Cox proportional hazards model for survival data with a cured fraction. Comparisons with existing parametric and semiparametric methods for survival data with a cured fraction show that the proposed method performs well and provides adquate fit to data. Moreover, the method is conceptually simple and easy to use. We illustrate the use of this method with a lymphoma data set.
