Abstract:

When analyzing data from environmental surveys, the researcher must address the issue of how to handle missing data. Methods proposed to solve the missing data problem in estimation procedures should consider the type of missing data, the sampling design used to collect the data, and the availability of auxiliary variables correlated with the process of interest. In this paper, we consider different approaches to handling missing data and study their properties when applied to environmental data.
