Different cell functions are encoded by spatially determined networks of interacting proteins. The determination of these networks is feasible by new technologies developed by Meltec. The resulting datasets are highly complex and require specific statistical solutions. A tissue sample can contains up to 5000 cells. For each cell, up to 22 variables are measured as gray levels, which are reduced to a zero-one code vector. Experiments are repeated for different doses and/or cell types. Initially, these experiments are qualitatively compared using very simple method, a so-called binary-code-diagram. It is demonstrated that this diagram produces similar patterns for similar experiments. Thus, this method is well-suited for visually comparing multiple experiments at one glance. Similarity between different codes are visualized with a vector diagram representation. We present both methods and discuss advantages and disadvantages.
