Abstract - #301164
Title: Model-based Analysis of Oligonucleotide Array Data: Overview and Progress
Author(s): Cheng Li*+
Affiliation(s): Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Address: 44 Binney Street , Boston , Massachusetts, 02115, USA
Keywords: oligonucleotide arrays ; mode-based ; dChip
Abstract:

Since Li and Wong (2001) proposed a model-based expression index for oligonucleotide arrays, there have been other model-based methods, aiming at expression index with less bias and more accuracy. In this talk, I will review various methods and their pros and cons, and present our continuing efforts on improving the model-based index using spike-in and replication data sets. A software "dChip" will be used to visualize the data and motivate the modeling procedures, and its high-level analysis functions incorporating biological knowledge will also be briefly introduced.
