Title: A Pseudo-Permutation Distribution of the Sign Test in Cluster Correlated Data
Author(s): Michael Ernst*+ and Denis Larocque

Keywords: Intraclass correlation ; One-way random effect model
Abstract:

The difficulties of obtaining an exact permutation distribution for the sign test in cluster correlated data are discussed. A pseudo-permutation distribution is proposed and is evaluated for its control of the Type I error probability. Its power is also compared to available asymptotic methods.
