Abstract:

The main objective of this work is to introduce a new way of defining dose response models. The "success" event in this new approach is defined to be a positive response with no side effects. In this setting , the functional form of p, probability of success, vs. dose level can be modeled to be in parabolic form. Furthermore, the effect of covariates will be incorporated into the model so that the dose response curve will be variable for different covariate levels. As a result of this new development, optimal doses which are more patient-specific can be obtained.
