Abstract:

We will discuss ideas for teaching sampling distributions, with a focus on the following topics: 1.) What do we really want our students to learn about sampling distributions? 2.) What is an appropriate range of material to teach on the topic (i.e. when are we beating a dead horse?)? 3.) Lab exercises not involving coins, dice or chocolate.
