Abstract:

This talk will address the measurement of health status in children, based on survey data. Reliable such measures are required for assessing the outcomes of health and health care interventions.

Specific issues to be addressed include parental versus self-report by children, the effect of social desirability on answers to questions on health and health services utilization, and analytic techniques to deal with the situation when the child lives in multiple households. Such techniques include the use of weighting.
