Abstract:

In recent years, there has been renewed interest in factorial design, an area where Professor Oscar Kempthorne had made important contributions. I shall briefly review some of the developments in the past decade. In particular, I shall discuss recent research on projection properties of factorial designs; supersaturated designs; the minimum aberration criterion for selecting regular fractional factorial designs and its generalization; and the generalized minimum aberration criterion for selecting nonregular designs.
