Abstract:

Quality control charts are potentially useful in monitoring processes that produce measurements which are lifetimes of manufactured items, or which follow typical lifetime distributions such as the Weibull or log-Normal. Such readings may be subject to censoring, due to time or laboratory instrumentation constraints. This paper presents a Shewhart charting method for Type II censored data from Weibull or log-Normal distributions that is based on Generalized Least Squares estimates.
