Abstract:

With more and more information literally at one's finger-tips on the World-Wide Web, statisticians need to provide users and students of statistics with high-quality Web-based resources in order to be responsive to customer's needs, to use our own time efficiently, and to reach the widest possible audience. We have started to do this at NIST by publishing the NIST/SEMATECH Engineering Statistics Internet Handbook and the Statistical Reference Datasets Web site. We are now moving beyond posting statistics information, and starting to provide interactive analysis tools for clients. During this luncheon, we hope to exchange ideas and experiences regarding the use of the Web in providing statistical services.
