Abstract:
|
This roundtable session will discuss how statistics can help in quantifying and reducing transportation risk, especially with respect to terrorism in the post-September 11th environment. Topics that are on the table include discriminant analysis for air passenger screening, cost-effective risk management strategies, and vulnerability of other transportation modes. The group will also explore how traditional tools in statistical risk analysis can apply to adversarial situations, in which game theory plays a role.
