Discussions of study design will include definition of appropriate end point and comparative evaluation and alternative designs. In addition to a review of standards measures of diagnostic accuracy, attendees will learn about measuring diagnostic accuracy in situations where there are multiple outcomes per subject, and where these outcome depend on characteristics of subjects and / or tests. Both nonparametric methods for data analysis will be described. Finally, methods for meta-analysis of results of diagnostic and screening test studies will be addressed.
