Description
This course will cover basics and recent methodological development in meta-analysis from a Bayesian perspective. Methods will be taught through presentation of examples from clinical and community trials, epidemiology, and health policy. This course is designed for persons who work as applied statisticians in health-care research, government or private industries. It will be designed around the book Meta-Analysis in Medicine and Health Policy, edited by Berry and Stangl, due out in late 1999 or early 2000. A master's degree in statistics should provide sufficient background for the course.
