Description

Three sections (Government, Social and Survey Research) cosponsored their first Student Paper Competition. Five of the six winning entries appear in this session. Papers concerning nonresponse in telephone surveys on analysis using propensity scores; nonresponse in telephone surveys on optimal allocation of nonrespondent callbacks; a new nonparametric model-assisted estimator for multiphase sampling; modeling, weighting and selection approaches for improving the validity of election forecasts based on polls and mixture models are presented for characterizing the distribution of household expenditures in the Russian Republic.
