Activity ID:  201
Title Room
Beyond Generalized Linear Models H-Carter
Date / Time Sponsor Type
08/07/2001    2:00 PM  -  3:50 PM ENAR Invited
Organizer: Ming Tan, St Jude Children's Research Hospital
Chair: Ming Tan, St Jude Children's Research Hospital
Discussant: 3:15 PM - Jason Liao, Medicial University of South Carolina
Floor Discussion 3:35 PM
Description

The goal of the session is to put together recent developments in Dispersion models (which include the GLM and longitudinal bounded outcomes, see Song and Tan, June, 2000, Biometrics) and further developments of GLM for measurement error models (Lin and Carroll's recent JASA paper and others, Daowen Zhang) . So "beyond" includes extension of the GLM from the response variables and the independent variables as well. A third topic would be related to the over-dispersion problem, which is now quite a problem in molecular biology and the analysis of ratio data in molecular genetics, which uses dispersion models.
