Description
Selection bias, or the preferential enrollment of specific patients into one treatment group vs. another, can compromise both the internal and external validity of even well-controlled randomized clinical trials. Selection bias arises from advance knowledge (either observation or prediction) of future treatment. We will discuss both novel allocation procedures to reduce selection bias and the detection of selection bias in randomized clinical trial with permuted block randomization.
