Description

This proposal grows out of the meeting of 2000 Park City Mathematics Institute, held at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. This year the focus of the PCMI mathematics education research group was on statistics education K-16. As members of the ASA Section on Statistics Education, George Cobb and Jeffrey Witmer thought that reports of ongoing research into learning of statistics would be of interest to others within ASA. The three papers present research at the elementary, middle and high school levels, with discussion by a college teacher of statistics.
