Description
As part of its Undergraduate Statistics Education Initiative (USEI), ASA conducted a workshop and a symposium in 2000, one goal of which was to develop curriculum guidelines for undergraduate programs in statistics. These guidelines are intended to provide sufficient flexibility to allow for implementation in a wide variety of institutions and in various types of programs including majors, minors, and concentrations. This panel discussion will summarize the USEI guidelines and will feature descriptions of how various schools successfully implement their indergraduate programs. Advice for those aiming to develop undergraduate programs at their own schools will also be provided.
