Workshop
Causal Effects and Propensity Scores in 2026 (Beginner; Added Fee)
About this session
This workshop hopes to enable the successful use (and evaluation of) the propensity score when estimating causal effects using data from an observational study. The target audience includes anyone who is interested in modern approaches to estimating causal effects using propensity matching and/or weighting. A working knowledge of regression models and an interest in using observational data effectively is sufficient preparation. Attendees will leave with access to course materials developed over 25 years in a one-semester course in the design and analysis of observational studies at CWRU. The instructor will also provide some advice on teaching these ideas, especially in the context of new robotic tools for supporting and conducting such analyses in the early AI era.
