The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission releases aggregate information on employment data from each of the reported establishment worksites by race, gender, occupation, and industry. Approximately 73,343 employers, representing 56 million employees filed EEO-1 reports in 2018. In this paper, we discuss the agency’s effort in creating an EEO-1 public use file that allows users to explore and analyze data for their own specific needs while protecting the confidential information on individuals and survey respondents. We demonstrate the data utility through several illustrations.
