The data revolution can increase timeliness of establishment statistics, whilst reducing survey costs and respondent burden, but is this the only way? These benefits can also be realised through smarter survey strategies – this presentation explores this issue from a theoretical standpoint, then gives real-world examples. The proposal then becomes a simple if/else statement of intent, with the intent being improving statistics for users, leading to better decisions for the public good.
