Investigating Adjustment Methodologies for the Census of AgricultureWilliam Cecere, USDA NASS*Andrea C Lamas, USDA NASS Kenneth K Lopiano, University of Florida Linda J Young, University of Florida Keywords: June Area Survey, Census of Agriculture, Non-response, Undercoverage For 2007, the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) conducted a Census of Agriculture and a June Area Survey (JAS). The Census of Agriculture is conducted every 5 years, in years ending in 2 and 7. The Census of Agriculture is a list based survey. The JAS is an area frame based survey that is conducted annually through in person interviews. For the 2007 Census of Agriculture, the values from survey responses were adjusted for both non-response and undercoverage. However, post evaluation of the non-response and undercoverage adjustments show that possible improvements can be made using the June Area Survey. These improvements are evaluated.
