ESANE, the new French system of production of the Structural Business Statistics, uses administrative data in an intensive way (annual statements of benefits sent by enterprises to the tax administration, and social data providing information on employees). These data are completed by information collected through a statistical survey, conducted on a sample of enterprises. Different methodological questions were raised when implementing this system, particularly concerning: - the data editing of different kinds of data, arriving at different periods, and the cross validation of each source ; - the production of statistical estimates combining all available information. The fact to combine administrative and statistical data also raised questions concerning the field considered by the business statistics.
