The researchers in subject matter areas (e.g., social and health sciences, agriculture etc.) have long been using analysis of variance techniques to analyze sample survey data, assuming that data are obtained through simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR) scheme. But most of the commonly used survey designs employ complex sampling designs involving multistage sampling schemes, because of operational and cost considerations. This paper, therefore, investigates empirically the effects of Complex Sampling Strategy (CSS) on ANOVA mixed effects model, through the analysis of data pertaining to experiments on cultivators’ fields.
