The Center for Veterinary Biologics (CVB) Statistics Section develops packages in the R software environment for use in the analysis of studies of veterinary vaccines and other biological products. In this talk we give a brief overview of R packages and demonstrate the use of the PF package, a package developed by the Section which includes methods for interval estimation of the prevented fraction (PF), an important measure of vaccine efficacy. We also discuss some of the Section’s methods of streamlining data input and summary output using R packages and related tools.
