An open, thought-provoking session is planned to discuss design of a completely original process for discovery and development of pharmaceutical products. Forget Phases, HTS, and animal models used today. Forget the term "that's how it always been done"! Starting at discovery of an NCE, we'll see how our discussion can give rise to a process that is more logically sound, scientifically-based and statistically valid. We'll discuss topics like use of healthy volunteers vs patients, drug screening process, decision rules and who makes them. We will aim to do nothing less than define the framework for a completely new R&D process during this lunch.
