Field efficacy studies can be important sources of safety data for both companion animal and livestock pharmaceutical products since they generally include many more animals under conditions of use than most target animal safety studies. Data that is often collected in these types of studies include abnormal health event data and concomitant medication data for both livestock and companion animals. In addition, clinical pathology data is also collected for the companion animals. The number of samples collected for clinical pathology varies with the length of study. This presentation will focus on the summaries/analyses of safety data from the perspective of a statistician from industry.
