As we know, effective communication is an integral part of the practice of statistics and data science. Statistical analyses can be complex and difficult to explain, especially to non-quantitative audiences. This poster describes our innovative method for presenting quantitative information to executives in the C-Suite (CEO, CFO, COO, et al.) Starting with a mindset of becoming a “servant expert,” statisticians and data scientists do their work along the path of discovery: qualitative information about the project, quantitative analyses, and qualitative conclusions and recommendations. We explain how to convert the path of discovery into the path of effective presentations by briefly focusing on the context of the problem and then presenting your findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Your methods of discovery should be explained only briefly to provide context or in as much detail as requested by your audience. The objective of this path of presentations is to increase your personal impact in your organization by getting you to a place where you are consistently invited to decision-making sessions with senior colleagues.
