As statisticians, we often find ourselves in situations where we are treated solely as producers and deliverers of information and not interpreters and discerners of the meaning and implications. This is especially true early in our careers.

This presentation will provide a number of specific behaviors to adopt and actions to take to put yourself in a position to have a stronger voice in the ultimate use of the information you deliver to stakeholders. Over time, you can find yourself moving along the continuum from "data jockey" to being a stakeholder yourself.

These lessons come from my own career, as well as those I've witnessed over the years making this transition. No one has a deeper, more intimate understanding of the data and analysis you provide, than you do. So, shouldn't you have a say in how it's leveraged? This talk will help you put yourself in a position to do just that.
