Many statisticians and data analysts recognize that they could benefit from improving their communication, presentation, and leadership skills, but because development of these skills requires dedicated study and practice, it can be difficult to figure out how to get started. For millions of individuals, however, one of the most effective avenues for accomplishing has been through active participation in a local Toastmasters club. Founded in 1924, Toastmasters International is a worldwide organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders, and its clubs provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills that result in greater self-confidence and personal growth. This talk will introduce you to Toastmasters by demonstrating the specific personal benefits of the program, how the program works, and how you can find a club in your area.
