Statisticians as Leaders

Demonstrating good leadership is essential for statisticians, whether they are currently in administrative roles or individual contributor roles. Many different dimensions make up a statistician’s leadership capability, and individuals and organizations can determine what leadership qualities are most important to them and to their customers. Five important leadership qualities, based on my experience, will be discussed: motivating others, business acumen, strategic agility, presentation skills, and decision making.
