The focus of this presentation is how to provide better solutions for patients awaiting treatments. The current status is a long wait until treatment approval, therapies that reach the market are suboptimal, and cost of new treatments is high. Better efficiency of drug development is necessary. From a patient standpoint, a high efficiency means that researchers can develop more or better treatments per unit number of study participants, or per unit of cost. We will give an overview of highly efficient development strategies and their impact on patients.
