Bayesian Methods in Clinical Trials: Making Better Decisions via Synthesizing Evidence

Can Bayesian Thinking Propel 21st Century Drug Development? (301214)

*Sandeep Menon, Pfizer Inc.

Keywords: bayesian

Drug Development is a very expensive process and we have several stakeholders starting from the patients, payers, health care providers, researchers, investors, executive management and several others. Hence it is important to optimize the data generation and make use of all available information. Bayesian perspective and thinking could and should play a larger role in drug development. The probability-based inference deployed in Bayesian can be very useful in the drug development process from pre-clinical research to post-marketing. This talk will discuss and explore some of the applications of Bayesian thinking specially to influence key stakeholders to quantify cost savings, increase speed and precision to improve informed quantitative decision making.
