Statistical leadership is at a unique crossroads now – with data sciences, analytics and informatics playing a complementary role to Statistics in decision making. In this talk, I will start with some thoughts on it and follow up with several initiatives at FDA where statisticians are playing a leadership role. I will conclude with some personal reflections on qualities a statistician needs to develop to be a key player in current drug development landscape.
