In 2015 the ASA BIOP Section Executive Committee started encouraging and supporting the establishment of scientific workgroups (SWGs) focused on the development of drugs and biologics. In recent years, these working groups have been shown to be important to both industry and regulatory professionals as “collaborative spaces” for discussing and motivating scientific thought and innovation. A total of nine working groups have been established by the ASA Biopharmaceutical Section. We will use this roundtable as a forum to discuss what we have learned, both good experiences and lessons learned, in working with our colleagues on two of these SWGs: The ASA Biopharm Safety and Alzheimer's Disease Scientific Working Groups.
