Integrating prospective observational study in CLL patients with contemporaneous real world CLL patients data obtained from EMR and claims database poses quite a challenge. There are a number of pros and cons of performing such an exercise. However, if one overcomes such challenges then one may be able to identify a subpopulation from the real world data that matches a prospective observational study. The subset that does not match with the prospective observational study will form the alternate real world data. One can then compare the treatment patterns and also the associations of treatments with baseline demography, baseline clinical characteristics, clinical outcomes in these 2 subpopulations This will helps us to understand if there are differences in these 2 populations and if so why so. This will provide insight about the gaps between these 2 populations. This will also provide insights as how we may integrate data in these 2 populations.

Question for the participants: 1)What do you think are the challenges of integrating real world prospective observation study with EMR and claims database? 2) What do you think are the challenges of integrating the 2 subpopulation as discussed above?
