Abstract:
|
When computing multinomial response tables on the log-binomial (or logit) scale, one typically assigns one of the response categories as a baseline or reference cell and estimate the respective logarithm of the effect estimate for all other categories relative to the baseline. An important aspect such tables is the assumption that the response categories are mutually exclusive and exhaustive, with the probabilities adding up to one for each individual. The latter property is key to computing multiplicity adjusted confidence interval across multiple multinomial tables using the closure principle. This roundtable will discuss the use and limitations of these methods in applied practice.
