Abstract:
|
Undergraduates are the future innovators. If we encourage their professional development by sponsoring authentic experiences, they will find a professional home and continue to develop as statisticians and data scientists. This panel will bring together individuals who are committed to supporting undergraduates as they begin their professional journey. The panel will highlight successful curricular and co-curricular innovations, industry experiences, professional conference participation, and mentoring programs for undergraduates. They will engage the audience in a discussion of how we can build on these successes and continue to support active undergraduate engagement in our profession.
