Abstract:
|
The promise of supersaturated screening experiments is great, but practitioners often do no trust the results. In fact, these experiments were originally proposed as the first step in a sequential set of experiments, though they are often not utilized this way in practice. We propose approaching SSD not as a tool to screen out factors, but as pilot experiment to collect valuable information for subsequent experimentation. In particular we investigate the importance of a robust estimator for error variance that is not dependent on the model.
