Abstract:
|
Traditional methods of measuring the photonicity of multiphoton–reactive samples involve irradiating the samples with laser pulses of different intensities and characterizing the rates of change in absorbance. These traditional methods are typically based on incident pulse intensities, and hence do not properly account for the decline in intensity across the optical path when high optical density samples are used. A new method is investigated that uses a longitudinally and temporally averaged intensity to account for this intensity loss in photonicity measurements. The traditional measurements and the measurements using the new method are compared to evaluate the improvement in accuracy.
