Abstract:
|
New methodology for constrained estimation and inference for survey domain means has been developed over the past few years. Imposing a priori information in the form of order and shape constraints results in smaller variance for the estimators, which leads to smaller confidence intervals with good coverage rates. A one-sided test has been developed for survey data, an example being constant versus increasing population domain means. The methods are available in the R package csurvey, an extension of the well known survey package. We present examples of implementation with data from the National Survey of College Graduates, and with data the NHANES survey.
