Abstract:
|
One of the most efficient ways to get the current COVID-19 pandemic under control would be to bring a safe and effective vaccine to market. There are currently numerous COVID-19 vaccine efficacy trials underway that are aiming to make this possible. These efforts include a platform trial being conducted by the World Health Organization and a number of separate efficacy trials that are funded by the United States' Operation Warp Speed. Once several of these trials have been completed, it will be of interest to compare the efficacy of the various vaccine candidates. In this talk, I will describe statistical methods for making this comparison. I will also compare the relative statistical efficiency of making this comparison based on platform trial data versus based on data from several separate efficacy trials.
