There has been explosion of data in medicine and clinical trials through digital transformation and the trend will continue in the digital age. Technologies are transforming traditional clinical trials to virtualization and democratization of clinical trials. Real-world data (RWD) is another area that will strengthen democratizing clinical trials in areas such as improving enrollment and informing clinical trial designs. What is the role of statistician in democratized clinical trials? How do we transform ourselves to adapt to the new challenges? How do we contribute to the success of digital transformation in the industry via close cross-functional collaborations? This session is not intended to offer firm answers, but rather to begin a conversation about how we can adapt from the traditional role of statisticians to meet the need for contributing to the destination of democratized clinical trials.
