Abstract:
|
Mendelian randomization has been frequently adopted to conduct causal inference with genetic summary statistics. While strong instruments are frequently selected to increase hypothesis testing power, the impact of instrument selection can not be neglected in practice. In this talk, we shall illustrate how model selection affects the performance of commonly adopted Mendelian randomization approaches include inverse weighting. We also propose some remedies to mitigate selection bias.
